Human Servants
Human servants are considered to be the daytime agent of the Master Vampire they serve. Their word and wishes are to be considered that of the vampire. Most Humans chosen are quite strong to begin with and the addition of the marks boost up the abilities of the human. Marking a servant can be difficult as another vampire may interrupt and mark any human that has not been fully marked. Most Vampires can exert complete control over their servants but some servants can disoby their master. Necromancer servants have complete free will in such a relationship.
There are Four Marks needed for a servant to be fully bound to a vampire. Once the marks are given, they cannot be voluntary removed. Seperation can only be at the death of one or the other. While this is usually a voluntary relationship, the marks can be forced upon a servant without their consent. A strong Vampire can survive the death of a human servant but it would greatly weaken them. A human will rarely survive the death of the Master and will most likely be driven insane by the sudden seperation. The longer the relationship exists, the more likely it is that both parties will die if one is killed.
Humans gain quite a bit with being marked. Regeneration, immortality, limited immunity to rolling, just to name a few. The vampire gains an invaluable tool in survival as they can feed through their human servant as well as feel the sensations of what they eat. Creating a human servant can be done in one night but it is not typicaly done this way. Like a witch's familiar, when the Servant is nearby, the Vampire is more powerful.
Process of Creating a Human Servant
- First Mark: The Vampire shares his/her life-force with a human. This can go unnoticed by the human as there are no visible signs of this occuring. The servant may also feel like they have fallen into the vampire's eyes.
- Second Mark: The Vampire sends his/her energy to the human in the form of an illusion of two flames in the air. Usually, the flames are in the shade of the vampire's eyes. These will float towards the human until they have melded into their own eyes, causing it to glow for a few moments.
- Third Mark: The Vampire will drink from the human while giving them a bit of their own blood. The pair will share memories with one another.
- Fourth Mark: The Human will drink from the Vampire while the Vampire intones a ritual phrase. The words are up to the vampire but the meaning is always the same. Two as one.
Benefits of Marking
First Mark: The first mark merely grants the vampire a link to his/her human servant. The human has gained greater regeneration and are generally harder to hurt. A higher pain threshold and an immunity to almost all the mind tricks of their Master. They also gain limited resistance to being rolled by another Vampire.
Second Mark: By this point, the vampire can survive being starved by syphoning energy from their servant. They can also enter the servant's dreams to communicate if denied any other method. Humans merely gain an upped version of the first mark's benefits.
Third Mark: At this point, the human and vampire have a much stronger connection. The two can communicate with one another directly so long as the human is conscious. Memories, thoughts and emotions can be shared between the two. This connection also allows the Vampire to taste the food the human eats. Humans also gain an even greater ability to heal which grants them an immunity to most poisons.
Fourth Mark: This is the final step in marking a servant. This step fully binds the two together. The human will not age but remain forever stuck as they were at the moment of marking. They will know each other's mind as intimately as they know thier own. Any injuries to one can affect the other. At this point, the human can draw on the vampire's strength when needed.
